DISTINGUISHING MARKS , has her ears pierced, but she rarely wears earrings. she does not have any tattoos, because she hasn't thought of/found anything significant enough to have permanently on her body. as far as scars, the usual childhood crap, like a small scar on her chin from a bike accident, after which she'd gotten two stitches.
FLAWS , can be really bitchy at times. is often called bi-polar (though she'd be quick to point out that they are using the word wrong) because she can go from extremely childish to extremely serious. she's quite anti-social.
BEST MEMORY , getting accepted to med school, being the youngest graduating senior at her undergrad college.
WORST MEMORY , her father giving away the dog while she was at school one day, because the dog peed on the carpet.
HISTORY , There's someone out there for everyone, right? Joel Benjamin was inept with the ladies, for several reasons. One, he was naturally shy. Two, his job was, well... not the most attractive thing in the world- accountants aren't exactly known for getting a lot of ass, you know? And three, he was a massive Trekkie. All three of these things conspired to make Joel an eternal virgin. But apparently fate was smiling on him one day when he met Maya at a Star Trek convention in California. He was there on business, and managed to take a day off to attend the convention, of course dressed as Mr. Spock. She was dressed as another member of the Starship Enterprise's crew. Sparks flew immediately. She didn't care that his job was inherently boring. Hell, her own was just as much so, to her. Being a waitress wasn't all that exciting... Anyway, the two hit it off quickly and began dating, and only six months later, they were married. The young couple moved to Alaska, where Joel was offered a job in an accounting firm, one where he would have to travel significantly less. After they were settled down in a new home, and Joel was settled into his career, they decided to start a family.

It didn't come easy to them. They'd conceive, but then Maya would miscarry. After losing three babies, they had all but given up. Why bother trying, if all it resulted in each time was pain and loss? Both devastated, they started drinking heavily. But when Maya found out she was once again expecting, she quit. Joel... didn't quite do it. He was convinced it would just end in loss. But as the months went by, and each check-up showed that their little girl was developing normally, he started to believe this time might work out, and though he still drank a lot, he said he'd quit, for her. But he was in too deep, and even while Maya was giving birth to Vulcan, Joel was out getting drunk at a bar. He got the phone call that he was now a father, tried to walk to the hospital, and was picked up by police. After staying overnight in the Drunk Tank, he finally made it to the hospital and the couple decided on a name- Vulcan Spock. They weren't still massive Trekkies at all, right? Oh well. They weren't thinking about the possibility that their child would get made fun of. They were only thinking of paying homage to their favorite TV character.

Although Maya had successfully given up alcohol, Joel never did. Vulcan grew up knowing that she should never speak to her father when he came home- he would be drunk, and yell at her. He never hit her, or his wife, but he made up for the lack of physical abuse with verbal and emotional. Despite this, though, Vulcan quickly showed signs of high intelligence, and by the time she got to school, it was obvious she was well ahead of the other children. She skipped some grades, and when she graduated high school she was the youngest person in her graduating class- she was also valedictorian. She'd always had perfect grades. Instead of playing after school like most children, Vulcan spent her time with her textbooks, hiding in her room and reading them cover to cover, and spending way more time than necessary on her homework, because it absolutely had to be perfect. It obviously paid off, because she was awarded a full academic scholarship to UHK. Her study habits were similar there. Though she got involved in some student organizations, it was only for the resume boosting effect, rather than the social value. Weekends and nights were spent studying instead of partying, and once again she graduated top of her class, and the youngest. She was accepted to UHK Med School, and is now a second-year med student.
