Remember the small town you grew up in? Riding your bike over to the corner store for a slushie on the way to meet your friends at the park? Or about the sweet couple who waved at you with a bright smile every time they saw you, you wouldn't have a clue that they were divorcing would you? Then there's the college professor who was always a little too friendly with that one, shy girl in class, everyone assumed they were secretly together, but who knew that the truth was he was her real father? High Falls is full of all kinds of secrets, you have to look closely to find the truth. Which brings us to the legend of the Davies family. After all, if it wasn't for them there might not be a High Falls to call home.
Legend has is that Robert Davies, son of the well known Daniel Davies of High Falls Publishing, was supposed to take over the company. He had everything, the wealthy family, the nice, lovely wife that worked as an editor for the company. What more could he want? The long hours and lack of sleep was driving him mad, so he snapped and killed his pretty little wife after accusing her of having an affair. He buried her underneath the Oak tree at the edge of their property in the Winter of 1960, then he hung himself. Now, fifty years later, the story still scares little kids and the young adults of the town laugh as if it's a joke.
It's fifty years after that event, and the town hasn't changed at all. Everyone regards their friends and neighbors as family, they only look at the surface of a person instead of getting to know anything real. They need to learn to take the time to see through a person, then maybe they'd learn that their nice little family is falling apart.[/align]
